How do I add a custom domain?

To add a custom domain:

  1. Sign in to your Cut0 account.
  2. Open the Domains section and click Connect your domain.
  1. In the opened window, enter the following details and click Connect your domain:
  • Domain – the primary domain you want to use for your short links, for example http://example.com. This domain will appear in your shortened links instead of the default service domain. This value must be unique.
  • External ID (optional) – an identifier used to reference this domain in your system when shortening links via API. For example, you can use it to associate the domain with a record in your CRM or another system. It may include letters, numbers, dots (.), underscores (_), and hyphens (-), with a maximum length of 255 characters. Special characters such as !@#$%^& are not allowed.
  • Custom 404 page (optional) – a URL that will be shown to visitors if the destination link leads to a non-existent page. You can provide a link to your custom 404 page, landing page, or homepage to maintain branding and avoid losing visitors.
  1. Configure DNS with your domain registrar:
  • Log in to your domain registrar’s control panel.
  • Open the DNS settings or Nameservers section.
  • Remove the existing NS records (you may want to back them up first just in case).
  • Add the new NS records provided in the on-screen instructions. You can copy the values using the icon .
  • Save the changes.
  • Wait for DNS propagation (up to 48 hours).
  1. Click I got it all to add the domain to the system.

The domain is added, but verification may take up to 48 hours, so its initial status will be Pending verification. Once the verification is complete, the status will change to Verified.

Information for added domains can be edited regardless of their status. To do this, click the icon next to the required domain, make the necessary changes (you can edit the External ID and Custom 404 page), and click Save. This will not reset the existing domain verification or delay it if the current status is Pending verification.

After successful verification, the domain can be used for creating short links. For more information, check out How do I create short links using my custom domain?
